Frequently asked questions
The Terrain Park is our professionally designed and designated freestyle area, offering jumps, rails and boxes for all levels of freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Spend your day trying out 40+ features and 40-foot jumps!
We recently invested in updated lighting throughout the entire park, so guests can safely ski once the sun goes down.
Layers: Layers are best to keep you dry and comfortable. Synthetic or wool based layers help wick moisture away from your skin.
Socks: Stay away from cotton! Instead, choose polyester, silk, wool or nylon socks. Thick socks or multiple layers of socks can cause blisters and reduce circulation, which leads to cold feet. Ski and snowboard boots are designed to be warm, so one pair of socks should suffice.
Hat: Did you know 60% of your body heat is lost through your head? Wear a hat to keep your head warm.
Gloves: Gloves or mittens should be waterproof. Mittens are often better for those susceptible to cold hands.
Outer layer: Make sure you have water resistant pants, like snow bibs, and a winter jacket.
Goggles: Protect your eyes/face from wind, cold and sun with a pair of winter goggles.
It all depends on the local weather! Most of the time we’re open by mid-December. Be sure to check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date opening schedule for the season!
Yes, you can. But remember:
- Old, out-of-date equipment is dangerous
- We cannot adjust outdated bindings
- All skis/snowboards must have devices to prevent runaways
- We do not allow plastic or other unsafe snowboards
- Bindings mounted to a board indicate a safe board; bindings mounted through a board indicate an unsafe board
- All boards must have a metal edge
No equipment? No problem. For just $32, you’re able to rent everything you need right here at Snowstar. You can even add an equipment rental package to you season pass! For $175, you'll get skis, boots and poles, or a snowboard and boots. Onsite rentals must be returned after each use and will be tuned for your next time out.
Parking at Snowstar is currently free. There may be times when the ski resort is busier than others. During busy weekends and peak periods, you may find parking on the street or follow signs that we have up.
