Frequently asked questions
Lessons are the easiest and safest way to learn, and we have some great instructors on our staff! Lesson times vary throughout the week, so we recommend calling ahead to confirm lesson times and ensure spots are available during your desired time slot.
If this is your first time taking a lesson, expect your first session to last approximately one hour as your instructor shows you the basics. You'll learn how to safely use your equipment and ski/board on the learning hill. We recommend that you bring more clothing than you need (hat, gloves, coat, sunglasses, waterproof pants, etc.). You can always get comfortable by removing items, but it’s hard to add them if you left them at home!
We'd love to have you! If you enjoy helping people learn and seeing smiling faces and hearing many laughs, consider joining our Snowstar Ski School. Snowstar has a rich tradition of teaching snowsports. Hundreds if not thousands of people have learned skiing and snowboarding here at Snowstar because of our many dedicated trained and certified instructors. We adhere to PSIA/AASI teaching and learning standards. Why not join our family of instructors and become even a better skier/rider as one of the benefits of becoming an instructor. For more information contact, Snowstar:info@skisnowstar.com!
Parents often ask if they can stay with their kids during the lesson. We do not recommend this, as it is often distracting to them and interferes with the learning process. We have two observation decks in the teaching area if you would like to observe from a distance.
During the winter season, we’re open Monday-Friday from 9am to 9 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 10pm. In the event of any closures due to extreme cold, the best way to find cancellations is through our Facebook page.
We’re proud to offer a family-friendly venue that accommodates guests of all ages and abilities. In addition to our winter weather activities, we also have warming huts and fire pits to stay comfortable while watching all the action!
