Zipline Frequently Asked Questions

Can One Or Two People Come And Do The Zip Line Or Do You Have To Be Part Of A Group?

There is no minimum number required to schedule a zip tour. We will try to schedule you with other zipliners.

How Long Does The Tour Last?

For a group of 8-10 zipliners the tour is approximately an hour long. If the group is smaller it may be closer to a half hour. We typically do not run groups of more than 10 participants, but please call if your group is larger than 20. There will be 2-3 tour guides per zip tour.

Do I Have To Make A Reservation?

Since we base our staffing on reservations, you will need to book your tour online. We recommend that you book your tour at least 24 hours in advance as we have limited spots available on each tour. Please feel free to call us at 309-798-2673 if you have booking questions.

How Far In Advance Do I Need To Schedule A Zip Tour?

Weekends are the busiest so it's best to book a week or two ahead, however sometimes we can get you in the same day, so give us a call and we'll do our best to get the time you want.

What If It Rains?

You get wet! (We run zip tours rain or shine. We cancel only because of high winds or lightning.)

What should we wear?

The SkyFlyer is open year round. Please dress for the current weather conditions. For Spring/Fall/Summer dress as if you were going hiking. We recommend closed-toed shoes. Absolutely no flip-flops or flimsy sandals! Short shorts may not be comfortable in the full body harness. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. In cold weather, wear a close-fitting hat (that will fit under a helmet), boots, gloves, and snow pants if desired. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. No loose fitting clothing items such as scarves and no ski boots.

How old do you have to be to do the SkyFlyer?

We recommend the zipline for 8 years and older, but it depends on the child's ability level and weight. Participants must weigh at least 70 lbs. to take part in an adventure zip tour. Anyone under age 18 will need to have a signed release form if they're not accompanied by a legal guardian.

Do you have to be in good shape to do the SkyFlyer?

The SkyFlyer is a moderately physical and mentally demanding adventure, designed for participants of good to moderate health, weighing more than 70 lbs., but less than a recommended 250 lbs. Participants must be able to climb stairs. Pregnant women, and people with heart, leg, back problems, or other serious illness should not do the Zip Line Adventure. Exceptions to any restrictions are at the discretion of the management. Management has final say as to whether or not a participant may zipline.
