The Snowstar Ski Patrol is part of the National Ski Patrol System. It is a group of highly dedicated individuals who are trained to help injured skiers and boarders as well as maintain a safe and controlled skiing environment.Since its formation in 1938, The National Ski Patrol (NSP) has evolved into one of the largest outdoor0winter rescue organizations in the world. It is composed of more that 28,500 members serving over 600 ski patrols including volunteer, paid, alpine, snowboard and Nordic patrolled through the United States and certain military areas in Europe. The NSP membership provides countless years of service and devotion to the skiing community by providing safety education, emergency care, and rescue services.
In 1980, The National Ski Patrol was recognized as a federal charter by the Unites States Congress. This is a coveted endorsement that only a few other American institutions, such as the Red Cross, the YMCA, and The Boy Scouts, have earned. The Charter stipulates the promotion of safety and health in skiing and other outdoor winter recreational activities. The NSP reports directly to congress.
The Snowstar Ski Patrol consists of extremely dedicated volunteers providing skiing and snowboarding safety. Patrols responsibilities include hill safety, skier/rider safety education, emergency care and rescue, in addition to providing customer service. They serve the skiing public, offering service in a courteous manner affording the best public relations possible at Snowstar. They are a great bunch of people who are there to safely enjoy winter with you. Snowstar is part of the National Ski Patrol System. It is a group of highly dedicated men and women who are trained to help injured skiers and riders and maintain a safe and controlled skiing environment. The National Ski patrol was started by Minnie Dole, who realized after a serious skiing injury of his own, the need for a service agency to render aid to skiers in need. The Snowstar Ski Patrol consists primarily of volunteers who work with a small number of professional ski patrols.
Each year, all ski patrols are required to participate in a refresher course administrated in accordance with a prescribed national standard. All ski patrols are CPR certified. We are proud to say that all of our ski patrols meet, and most exceed, national standard. Anyone interested in joining this dynamic team can contact the representative listed below with questions.
